Established in Burnie in 1982, En Vogue Modelling Academy is one of Tasmania’s leading modelling schools. Our models are dedicated with a desire to achieve, and are continually open to learning and improving their skills and confidence. En Vogue also has a partnership in Cheetah Event Management, helping to bring quality events and pageants to Tasmania.
Here at EVMA, we take pride in our belief that ‘beauty comes in all shapes and sizes’ and everyBODY is beautiful, as our tag line reads. En Vogue Modelling Academy follows the Government Body Image Code of Conduct Laws. These are voluntary codes which aim to promote healthy body image, including plus size models and healthy eating. In 2012, we were awarded a Commended Award by the Honourable Minister Peter Garrett at the Positive Body Image Award Presentations in Sydney. EVMA was recognised alongside Girlfriend Magazine, Dolly Magazine and the Dove Bodythink Program.
En Vogue Modelling Academy caters for every BODY – all sizes, shapes, genders and ages. Anyone who walks (or struts) through our doors is treated and respected as an equal by all staff and students. EVMA is a positive environment where we aim to boost self-confidence, teach valuable deportment and grooming skills, and most importantly, have a fun experience with us while learning the intricate techniques of becoming a model.
Depending on each specific class, our courses range from learning the basics and need-to-knows of the modelling industry, including posture, balance points of the body, and choreography, as well as photographic modelling and participating in mock fashion parades, hair and skincare lessons and so much more.
We have had models represented in Miss Universe Australia, Miss World, Australian Swimsuit Model of the Year, Fashion TV Australia, Miss Country Girl, Dolly Model Search and numerous other titles. Our models are amazing, dedicated and have a burning desire and passion to achieve.
Previously owned for 18 years by the current Deputy Mayor of the Burnie City Council, Giovanna Simpson, EVMA is now under the reign of the next generation. Ellie Simpson took over the academy in late 2018, being involved with En Vogue from the young age of two-years-old, it was bound to be destiny.
Every BODY is beautiful.
